How I Spent My Summer Vacation

It’s been a busy summer.

This summer I traveled up and down the east coast, napped along the banks of Lake Michigan, crawled through never-ending LA traffic, and made, once again, the long and boring drive from Philadelphia to Chicago (fourteen hours, in case you’re curious).

This summer I passed the one-year anniversary of quitting my job and deciding to dive head first into writing full time. I also passed the one-year anniversary of getting married, which was considerably more pleasant.

I read a lot this summer, fourteen books and counting, plus one audiobook and two books I’d already read.

I wrote a lot, too, putting the finishing touches on a manuscript that I adore.

I spent a good amount of time thinking about writing, reading, editing, YA in general, this little blog, all you lovely readers, and confirmed (or reconfirmed) some big personal decisions about where I want to take myself professionally and creatively.

There’s a lot that I can’t wait to share with you all, over the next few weeks and months, but I thought I’d ease back into these Wednesday reflections with a question to you.

What was the most important thing you learned this summer?
